Kiss kiss Bangkok

Woah got off the planes after a resonobly uneventful flight and was hit by a wall of humdity. I've been in my fair share of saunas but at the moment I'm living in one permanantly!
I started off my getting lost between the airport and the hotel, not the best start I admit but at least it gave us a chance to get our bearings and take an unplanned tuk tuk ride. That night we toom a strole throught the market bought some tees and turned out a lot of people tring to sell us suits, ping pomg shows and more suits. ( I had been warned about the suits but didn't realise everybodywould be trying to sell them, but more on that soon. I also spoke to some Thai kids who were skating in the street, they were so happy and friendly but I have no idea what they were on about!

The next day we set out for the Grand temple but got sidetracked but a man whom we really thought was on the level- He told us to check out two other temples before the Grand Temple because the Grand Temple didn't open till 1 pm (this was actually bullshit). The temples were of the standing buddha, reclining Buddha and lying Buddha, all of which were great. The first chap as well as the guy at the temples then recommended we see the fashion market. This wasn't a market at all but a shop to buy suits. Like the suckers we are we all bought suits, but now we all have suits and for $200 Australian I think we did pretty good. By the time we had done all that we were hungry so we headed back to the hotel for lunch. Like clockwork as soon as we had finished the heavens opened up and forced us back into our rooms to upload photos, check email and blog... that more or less brings us up till this point. Tonight we're hitting Patpog road and all of its vices, tomorrow the ruins of Auttuya (not the correct spelling but I can't be bothered looking it up right now)

See you round like a record!

Spring is here

Well yesterday was the first day of spring in the southern hemisphere and Mother Nature did not forget putting on a lovely day in Sydney. Someone else who knew it was Spring was the dancing guy outside the QVB. Brandishing a hastily made sign simply saying "Spring!" while his stereo blasted out funk disco tunes this lone individual danced up a storm and created a small following as the afternoon wore on. It's nice to see this kind of stuff happening in town, it puts all who see it in a great mood and hell, he seemed to be enjoying it too! I don't think he made much money but I trust this wasn't his main objective. Elsewhere in Enmore I found a quaint little sign on someone’s nature strip. I don't see the wooden hand-painted sign much these days so I thought I should include this one in this week’s post. The sign is beautiful in its simplicity and I shall keep an eye out to see if the sign writer’s requests are met.

Welcome

Hey cats! This is my first post for this blog created mostly to document my eminent trip to Thailand and the days leading up to it. I've spent the last two nights planning with Craig and we're oh so close to finalising our itinerary. Watch this space!

In other news I spent the other afternoon playing around with my new camera taking snaps of the city as well as a very descriptive sign for some missing keys... take a look
